We strive to make Washington Township a better place to live, work, and raise a family. Our office will strive to provide you with the most efficient and convenient services available. We are here to serve you and look forward to assisting you respectfully, fairly, and honestly.
What We Do
Fire Protection
The largest line item in our budget is usually fire protection. Washington Township partners with Greensburg Fire Department to provide fire protection to the residents of our township 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Cemetery Upkeep
In the State of Indiana, townships are responsible for the care of abandoned cemeteries. Currently, Washington Township is responsible for the care of four cemeteries.

How to Get Assistance From Us
If you are struggling with an emergency situation and live within the Washington Township, you may be eligible for help from us. Here are the steps to get assistance:

STEP 3.
Schedule an Appointment
We will the go over the document together and determine funding eligibility. GIve us a call to schedule the appointment.
STEP 4.
Funding Approved and/or Not Approved
We will help connect you to opportunities to take care of bills. *The Township has 72 hours to make a decision on the applicant's case. The applicant will receive the decision in writing. If an applicant disagrees with the action taken, he/she has the right to appeal with the Board of Commissioners.
